Dilshana : The Rana's War Bride
Agnijeet stopped inches away from her. The heat rolling off him was suffocating. His teeth were clenched so tight his jawline looked like carved granite "Hato hamare raaste se..." (Move away. Get out of my way...) "Kahan ja rahe hain aap?" Dilshana demanded, refusing to yield despite the terror his state induced. "Iss halat mein kahan jaayenge?" (Where are you going? In this condition, where will you go?) "Humne kaha door hato!" Agnijit roared, his voice echoing against the walls of the silent chamber. Reaching out, Agnijeet locked his fingers around her upper arm and forcefully shoved her aside. A wave of terror slammed into Dilshana’s chest. What if Avani is waiting for him to stumble out of this room ?? Agnijeet reached for the latch of the door, Dilshana lunged forward from behind. She threw her arms around his waist, clinging tightly to his back to anchor him in place. "Nahi!" Dilshana gasped out against his back, her voice muffled. "Aap bahar nahi jaayenge!" (No! You will not go outside!) Agnijeet shuddered. Dilshana didn't loosen her hold. Stepping around his side, she placed herself in front of him, blocking the door once more. She raised her hands to rest over his shoulders. Agnijeet stared down at her, a bead of sweat rolling down his defined jawline. "Door hato... Sunai nahi deta tumhe." (Move away... Can't you listen.) She clutched his hair at the nape, yanking him down to her level. "Jo karna hai humare sath kijiye..." She choked out in a whisper, tears of pure desperation glistening in her eyes. "Bahar nahi jaane denge hum aapko... bilkul nahi!" (Do whatever you want with me... I will not let you go outside... absolutely not!) The words tore out of her throat like a wild confession of defiance, born of rage, jealousy, and panic. Agnijeet lifted his head slightly, his broad chest heaving in jagged breaths. He looked down at her face, tracing her flushed cheeks, her lips, and the dazed fog in her eyes.
